Vanna: I could only save one person…
Her voice seems to carry, even after her body dissolves. Her hand holds onto Pavel’s arm even as it flakes away into nothing- her wedding ring disappearing into nothing.
Vanna: But I’m so glad… it was YOU.
Pavel looks down at her empty robes. He’s completely still, but crying so hard that the tears drip off his chin. The light from the lantern catches on the sparkles that float upward and then wink out into nothing. All that’s left now is a perfect circle of ghosts, watching a boy cry over a pile of clothes.
Pavel (thinking): You can’t stay here.
When the tears stop enough for Pavel to think, he looks up. Blank faced with shock and hurt, he reaches down and grabs Vanna’s coat, slinging it around his shoulders in search of the only comfort he can find. Something to remember her by. It’s too big on him.
Pavel (thinking): There’s no time to cry. Right now, you have to RUN.
