A colossal white coral castle rises against a golden sunset, stars beginning to glitter overhead. Its spires wind upward into towers and outward into auger-shell-like protrusions. Golden light beams out of dozens of enormous windows, topped with shell-like panes of glass. A staircase winds around its topmost tower. Waterfalls stream down from the barrier wall that surrounds it. Beyond it, a city of white coral columns and balconies shines with the lights of thousands of lanterns, carried by thousands of figures. They have lined up solemnly on the docks and ships that line the grand central canal, to watch a single, small black ship move quietly toward the gate of the palace.
