Halea and Daphne ascend the tower stairs, illuminated by light, with the waterways and brightly lit columns of Telegonus far below them.
Halea: What troubles you, Daphne?
Daphne: Well... YOU, frankly. You've been so different since you came down from the Crucible. I knew you'd change a bit... but I didn't think you'd change THIS much. You haven't even called me 'Daphie' ONCE.
Halea puts a thin hand to her chest, looking hurt.
Halea: Oh, dear DAPHIE! I didn't realize you were so worried... You poor thing. Changes had to be made... but this is still the body of your FRIEND! You aren't dwelling on your mother's words, are you?
Daphne snaps her attention forward, looking like she's been caught.
Daphne: NO! NO... I just... hmm. It would certainly help explain things. Like the fire... and the eyeballs... and not eating... and why you're so calm about Lani being... ...Nevermind, I'm being silly.
