Amos keeps his pistol raised, looking a bit more wide-eyed and frantic.
Amos: She has given me her trust to do as I must. WHATEVER I must.
A voice comes from behind Amos, startling him. It's Daphne, gently descending the rest of the staircase.
Daphne: Amos?
Amos quickly tucks the pistol and his cloak back into place, looking stunned. Daphne runs past him toward Euphemia.
Daphne: MOTHER! Oh, Sweet Cheline... Have you been bothering Lord Amos too?
Euphemia: BOTHERING? Hardly! He just said he was terribly BORED down here.
Euphemia leans around her, smiling, one eye cheerfully closed, the other fixated on Amos.
Euphemia: He asked me to keep him COMPANY until Halea comes down.
Amos locks his singular eye with hers, regarding her with a mix of terror and respect.
Daphne (offscreen): Mother, I highly doubt that... Fine. Whatever. Just PLEASE leave if he asks you to. I'm off to bed.
Amos (thinking): For your own safety and sanity, your Divinity... you'd better leave out the BACK.
