Bird A: oh shoot we should've told Stella about the scary lady
Bird B: ohhhh yeaaahhh jeez guess we forgot huh
Bird C: ...anyway
Halea approaches a birdbath nestled in the undergrowth, where a small Steller's Jay sleeps peacefully on its edge. She places a single finger on the edge of the birdbath, and the bird doesn't stir.
Halea: Luckily, this one seems to be NEW around here.
The jay sleeps as a shadow looms over it. As the shadow darkens, it opens a single eye.
It wakes with a start as Halea's hand raises above it, ready to strike. Her hand comes down with a swipe, clutching the jay around its abdomen and locking its wings in place before it can fly away. It cries SKREE! SKREE! SKREE! in fear as she lifts it upward.
