Daphne stares down at the casket, wide-eyed, tears still in her eyes. She suddenly looks more determined, and raises a hand to put it on the black velvet drape.
Daphne: I want to see her. I want to see what those MONSTERS did to my daughter.
Halea begins to speak, and Daphne turns toward her, looking sorrowful.
Halea: As any mother would. But I would advise you to keep her casket closed tonight. There is little to recognize her by, after all.
Halea reaches a hand to Daphne, grabbing it and pulling her away.
Halea: Better to remember her face as it WAS... not as it IS.
Halea guides Daphne toward the light of the gateway, with the pallbearers in step behind her, somberly carrying the casket.
Halea: You needn't burden yourself with yet another nightmare... Not when I am here to help.
Behind the procession, Euphemia stands with the samoyeds, looking annoyed. She reaches into her cloak, and pulls out something red.
