Vanna has carefully lowered her hand onto Cheline's head. The goddess continues to speak, resting on her captive's lap.
Cheline: But if I couldn't erase her, I could RESHAPE her. Claiming her as my child would maintain my superiority. And her face... I wouldn't have to look at her face ever again. A stupid solution. TERRIBLY stupid. I always hated how easily it was eaten up.
She continues speaking, eyes closed. Vanna doesn't move her hand, but it has become nestled in Cheline's hair.
Cheline: But thank the stars for the brevity of human memory. A small mercy on the long road to the end.
Vanna looks down, listening. She's less panicked now, and more concerned.
Cheline (offscreen): What can be done? I work myself to the bone, until my body gives out. And if sleep awaits, me I shall be glad. So very glad.
Vanna leans forward.
Vanna: That CAN'T be the only solution. You brought me here for a reason. Is there something I can do?
Cheline says nothing. Her eyes remain closed.
Then they open, half lidded and glowing.
Cheline: ...Something... ...YOU can do?
