Pavel walks and Lani floats around the pit. Pavel looks up to Lani.

Pavel: Hey Lani?

Lani: Yeah?

Pavel: Phaedra said your mom is the High Priestess, is that true?

Lani: Wow, you and Phaedra talked about a lot! Yeah, she's my mama! She's cool. Why'd you ask?

Pavel looks away, looking awkward.

Pavel: She was in Salabay. Collecting Phaedra's body.

Lani is startled.

Lani: ...Dang.

She floats down, and her feet hit the ground.

Lani: So that's it, then. She knows I'm dead.

Lani slumps down and sits on the grass, staring ahead. Pavel looks on, worried.

Lani: I mean, like... it's not a SURE sure thing... but she probably THINKS I'm dead, and she'd be right. Man. She's super tough, but I wonder how she's handling everything.

Pavel speaks carefully.

Pavel: She... said she didn't HAVE a daughter.

Lani looks at him, confused.

Lani: Hm?

Pavel and Lani continue conversing in the pit as the snow falls gently around.

Pavel: Well, she said Phaedra was like the daughter she never had. And then I learned you were her daughter... so it was weird.
