The old man grabs the girl by her seabitten arm.
Old Man: Come here! NOW!
Evabelle gets pulled toward him, dropping the bell into the bottom of the boat.
Evabelle: Grampa! He's friendly! He's not here to hurt me!
Her grandfather pulls her into his embrace.
Old Man: Sorry, sweetie.
He looks up to the plesiosaur, screaming defiantly.
Old Man: GET BACK, BEAST! Away with you! Leave this child alone! Let her soul be at peace! Go tell your master he can DROWN!
The water turns red and churns in front of the boat. The plesiosaur's face turns mildly skeletal. He looks upon the man with disdain, speaking in the Gods' Tongue.
Evabelle looks up at the redtider, tears in her eyes. Her face is more sorrowful than fearful. She holds onto her grandfather's arm as he keeps her tight in his grip.
Old Man: Evabelle, this is a very dangerous creature. Red seaghosts are messengers from Cheth, sent to corrupt you. Your seabite lets you see them, but they are NOT your friends. Please... promise me you'll never speak to red seaghosts EVER again.
