Pavel jogs inland, paddleboard tucked under his arm now. The beach leads up to a sandy cliff with a tunnel through the rock, palm trees poking out along the sides and pillars jutting around the entrance.
Pavel: All done, Eddy. Still alive. Is she back?
He leans his paddleboard against the earth and climbs over the lip of the stone. On the next level, at the mouth of the cave, there are flowers that seem reminiscent of hibiscus and a thick grass covering. In the background, the line of lighthouses gleam.
Pavel: Eddy? Are you there?
Paddleboard in hand again, he heads up the grassy incline. Above him, the cave walls and ceiling are decorated with carvings. What appears to be birds and fire plays across the surface as Pavel reaches the other end of the cave and pokes his head around the grassy hill.
Pavel: Eddy?
Caption: The Great Salabay Aquifer: Sacred hot spring sanctuary of the Plume Church.
The view opens out on a magnificent structure, it looks like a small town or a sprawling campus. A tall central building with a circular top - like the eye of a needle - has a thin waterfall running down its front and channels for the water carved into its sides. The collection of arches, bridges, and tunnels that lie below are interspersed with rivers and falls, and all overlaid with steam from the healing waters. The hills behind it are speckled with vine laden trees and the sanctuary itself is dotted with palms. An exposed, winding road leads through the steaming springs and into the center of the Aquifer.
Pavel: … Oh, you JERK.
