Cal puts a hand to his chin, thinking.

Cal: Regardless of the manner of his arrival, it's not safe for Master Morena out here in the ghost water. It must be our duty to protect him until we can deliver him to an inhabited island. But to have Lord Cheth AND the Fata Morgana involved in his appearance... It's not the most comfortable notion, but it doesn't mean he's a danger to us.

Irving and Lani look on, listening to his words.

Cal shrugs, smiling awkwardly.

Cal: Luckily, not many things ARE a danger to us anymore? Because... well, you know.

Phaedra puts her elbows on her desk and grabs her wrist, thinking carefully.

Phaedra: I agree. My instincts say that Pavel is innocent, but we can't ignore how suspicious this all is. The only thing we know is: Cheth has put a child in danger for his own BENEFIT... or his own AMUSEMENT. As much as we still need a volunteer, we should get Pavel where he needs to go, as quickly as possible.
